About
Over twenty years ago, I was using a Hasselblad 500 ELX as one of my main cameras. I initially purchased it because it was the cheapest, modern Hasselblad body I could buy. It was my gateway into the Hasselblad system. I loved everything about the camera except the crummy NiCad batteries. At that time, my best friend, D. Clarke Evans was the team photographer for the San Antonio Spurs. He would use as many as 3 remotely controlled 500ELMs to photograph basketball. Clarke shared the same frustration with the less than reliable NiCad batteries. There had to be a better power source. It needed to use a cheap and readily available battery. This lead to me designing the Hasselconverter 9 volt adapter. I made several prototypes that I tested with my own camera and then had Clarke test them under professional use in his game cameras. Since then, I have sold thousands of Hasselconverters to Hasselblad owners and camera repair shops all over the world.
